Clyde Butcher

*Factory Falls 24 - Delaware Water Gap, PA
Clyde Butcher is the photographer. He took this photo.
"His images are captured with an 8”x 10”, 11”x 14”, and 12”x 20” view camera.  The large format camera allows him to express the elaborate detail and textures that distinguish the intricacy of the landscape."
He takes black and white photos and all of them are of the environment. He has won numerous awards like the Artist Hall of Fame Award, which is the highest award given to a private citizen by the state of Florida. This is a gorgeous picture. I usually like landscapes in color, I just think landscapes look better in color. I think this landscape works being in black and white in this case. The water looks soft and flowing. The water looks like it's moving fast, but he captured it so it's not blurry. I  like how this picture shows movement. The front rocks are starting to blend in with the water and the back trees are getting a little lost. I know he couldn't do too much about it since he took this picture with a film camera and he had to develop it, so he couldn't Photoshop it. I still think this is a beautiful picture.
